Upik Sarjiati completed her Master through Double Degree Program in Economics, Indonesia University and Economics Planning and Public Policy Program in National Graduate Institute and Research Studies (GRIPS) Japan in 2012. Her thesis titled “Households Coping Strategies in the Aftermath Mt. Merapi Eruption in 2010 in Indonesia”. Since 2006 she works in PSDR LIPI under the Asia Pacific Division. She carried out research on migrant workers in Lombok Island and also in South Korea. She also conducted research on risk and modernity in Japan. Her researches focus on risk, disaster, and migrant workers.
