Rucianawati is a researcher from Division of Southeast Asia Studies, Research Center For Regional Resources, Indonesian Institute of Sciences (PSDR-LIPI). She got her Magister Humaniora from Faculty of Humanities, University of Indonesia (2011). Her thesis discusses the emergence and suppression of PGRS / PARAKU in border areas of West Kalimantan and Sarawak in 1963 to 1974. Interested in studying on border issues, however she has been involved in several research themes, among others about tourism in Malayasia and Thailand, Ethnicity and Transnational Trade in the Mekong River Basin, Bugis Diaspora in Malaysia, and Conflict Resolution in Papua. Currently she is working on The Development of Agriculrural Industry in Southeast Asia, and Development of Tourism and Local Community Empowerment in Buleleng, Bali.
