Amorisa Wiratri studied Japanese literature in 2001 for her diploma and studied Cultural Anthropology in 2002 for her bachelor. In 2008, she moved to Jakarta and since then she has been working as a researcher in Research Centre for Regional Resources (PSDR), Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI). In 2010, she received a scholarship from AusAid to attend Postgraduate Master program at Flinders University, Adelaide and obtained MA degree in Women’s Studies in 2012. After the completion of her study, she returned to LIPI and began to engage in a number of researches on social science with focus on Southeast Asian studies, particularly on transnationalism, migration, and diaspora.
