SIMONIC for Covid-19 Quarantine Monitoring Purpose

During the COVID-19 pandemic, wearable devices integrated with information systems can be used to monitor individuals in ODP (Orang Dalam Pantauan) or PDP (Pasien Dalam Pengawasan) status. ODP and PDP individuals who undergo quarantine often violate quarantine rules to stay at home for 14 days. Enforcement of regulations during the quarantine process must be carried out to ensure that individuals remain in a confined area (home) during the quarantine period. It is necessary to develop a device that provides ODP/PDP/OTG(Orang Tanpa Gejala) to perform self-isolation correctly and adequately.

This research activity aims to build a monitoring system for individuals in ODP/PDP/OTG status, consisting of end-users and servers managed by the government. On the end-user side, the wearable devices used are Bluetooth bracelets that are always be worn by the ODP/PDP/OTG and connected to smartphones via Bluetooth. Smartphone applications are required to register individual identities and quarantine locations, also to monitor the quarantine process. A server stores and manage individuals data so that government can carries out supervision.

The system must meet several criteria to carry out its functions properly. The wearable devices used in this system must be economically valuable because many individuals will use them on a minimal budget. The individual's location coordinates that are monitored via bracelet cannot be faked through additional applications. This system can also provide further information for quarantine supervisors for each area to ensure the quarantine process runs correctly. This system could minimize privacy violations by using anonymous identities and mapping identities of the individuals in quarantines. This critical information is only known by the authorized party in charge to ensure that the quarantine process is conducted adequately in the field. This research is expected to produce a prototype monitoring system for individuals in surveillance status, which can be implemented and operated to play a role in accelerating the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia.
