Research on Cognitive Radio to Improve the Spectrum Efficiency Usage
At this time, the evolution of wireless communication systems has significantly influenced the development of telecommunications technology and users. However, at the same time, the rapidly increasing number of wireless communication users will impact the availability of the frequency spectrum to become increasingly limited and scarce. Based on surveys and measurements of the use of radio spectrum, most of the allocated spectrum is not used by the primary users at a particular time. Cognitive radio (CR) is one solution to improve the efficiency of spectrum use by allowing unlicensed users (UN, SU, or CR users) to access free licensed spectrum at a particular time. This is because the current static spectrum regulation cannot accommodate the future surge in wireless spectrum users.
The specific objectives of this research are as follows:
1. Optimization of wireless spectrum sensing method on the cognitive radio system
2. Produce a prototype of a transceiver that can perform spectrum sensing and transmission for a specific frequency range This research produces a prototype sender-receiver (transceiver) that can perform spectrum sensing and transmission for a specific frequency range.
