Loka Penelitian Teknologi Bersih (LPTB)/ Research Unit for Clean Technology was established under the Regulation issued by the chairman of Indonesian Institute of Science, No 8, 2016, on the 24th of February 2016 (Peraturan Kepala Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (LIPI), Nomor 8 Tahun 2016, tanggal 24 Februari 2016). LPTB is one of working units under the responsibility of Eselon IV B which is directly the subordinate of Engineering Science Deputyship (Kedeputian Bidang Ilmu Pengetahuan Teknik (IPT)).
LPTB has been performing a series of organizational activities supported by about 96 human resources and National Budget (APBN) issued by the Letter DJA no. S 1112/AG/2016 (Surat DJA nomor S-1112/AG/2016) about new working unit establishment. The organization keeps changing and adapts to numbers of policies, regulation and dynamic fluctuation primarily influenced by the requisite of bureaucracy reformation and external circumstances to be promptly, rapidly and accurately responded by the existing human resources. At the end of 2017, LPTB was supported by 86 human resources because of the retirement of some employees.
Organizational supports including duties and functions, human resource’s qualification and competence and equipment and facilities have demonstrated significance on the improvement of the service range, cooperation, invention and innovation of research greatly impactful in fulfilling both the internal and external necessities and demands.
