Chairman Of LIPI
Agus Haryono, was born in Pamekasan, is currently the Acting Head of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI), concurrently as Deputy of Engineering Sciences at LIPI.
Agus got his undergraduate degree at Waseda University, Tokyo, Department of Applied Chemistry in 1990-1994. There, he continued his study and got his Master of Engineering. The Doctor of Engineering degree, which he achieved in three years (1996-1999), also completed at the same university and department.
The hard work of the man born on February 21, 1969 was rewarded with several awards at the international level, namely Mizuno Award (1999) from Waseda University, Koukenkai Award (1999) from the Society of Polymer Department, Waseda University, Outstanding Researcher Award (2001) from the Institute for Science and Technology Japanese Studies, as well as the Best Young Indonesian Researcher 2003 (in Engineering) from the Indonesian Institute of Sciences, and the 2004/2005 Postdoctoral Research Award (OAD-Austria).
