Deputy for Social Sciences

Prof. Dr. Tri Nuke Pudjiastuti, MA has been served as the Deputy of Social and Humanities Sciences (IPSK) of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences since December 16, 2015. Tri Nuke Pudjiastuti “Nuke”, born on February 1, 1963 in Salatiga, completed his Master of Arts (MA) education in Geography and Environmental Studies, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Adelaide, Adelaide - South Australia by a focus on the research of international migration. In 2014, Nuke finished her doctoral education in the Department of Criminology, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Indonesia. In her dissertation, Nuke focuses on people smuggling from Indonesia to Australia. 

Nuke has joined LIPI since 1987 as a researcher at the Political Research Center as well as the ASEAN and Border groups. She has done a lot of research and been involved in making the policy inputs on forced migration (human trafficking, migrant smuggling, and refugees) within ASEAN.

On December 18, 2018, Nuke was inaugurated as Professor of Research by his oration entitled "New Meaning of the Non-Interference Principle on Handling Forced Migration in the ASEAN Mechanism Framework." Currently, Nuke serves as the Chair of the Indonesian National Commission for Management of Social Transformations (MOST-UNESCO). Moreover,  she has been a member of the Council for the Secretariat of the Asian Dialogue on Forced Migration (ADFM) since 2015 as well as assigned as the Consortium Board of Management for Southeast Asian Studies in Asia (SEASIA).
